St. Clair County Board of Education members got what was coming to them — a shower of gifts to recognize them for their work on the school board.

The shower came during the meeting in January, which was School Board Appreciation Month.

Serving as a school board member is often a thankless job, but it is reassuring to see personnel from the school system recognize jobs well done by the board.

We, too, salute the St. Clair County School Board. Their efforts on children’s behalf should not go unnoticed.
