Local police forces made two major marijuana busts in St. Clair County on the same day earlier this month. The two stories were so similar, you may have thought you were reading the same thing twice.

But no, one was in Argo and the other in Leeds.

In both cases, police were called to residences to investigate other possible crimes, a domestic disturbance in Argo and a break-in in Leeds. When the officers arrived in both cases, they found reason to believe marijuana was being grown inside the houses and got permission to search.

Both houses contained what officers described as “sophisticated” growing operations.

The police officers in Argo and Leeds and the deputies of the St. Clair Sheriff’s Office performed their jobs with alertness, vigilance and judgment in detecting these illegal grow operations.
